A Little About Me

I'm Melo — a first-generation college grad from Saginaw, Michigan who turned a camera into a passport. I've created content for universities, brands, and creators, spent a year filming my way through Asia and Australia, and I'm currently shooting from the Grand Canyon. My background in Community Development & Leadership means I don't just shoot video — I make content with purpose.

About Me

I'm Romel'o Ellis — Melo — a videographer and creative media professional from Saginaw, Michigan.

I'm a first-generation college graduate: an associate's degree from Lansing Community College, then a B.S. in Community Development with a Leadership minor from Central Michigan University. That background is my edge — I don't just shoot video, I study people, communities, and what actually moves them.

At CMU, I turned the campus into my film school. I spent nearly two years as Digital Media Coordinator for the Leadership Institute, directed marketing content for the Program Board, created TikToks for Central Michigan Life that reached the whole campus, co-created and hosted an 18-episode podcast, and freelanced for brands like High Caliber Karting through FrankFilms. Music videos, recruitment campaigns, branded ads, event coverage — I've produced across all of it.

Then I bet on the road.

After graduation, I spent over a year living and traveling outside the US — Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, and Australia — working abroad on Australia's Work and Holiday visa and filming the entire journey. Right now I'm working and shooting at the Grand Canyon. Next stop: New Zealand.
